About The Position

The Medication Safety Officer coordinates the medication safety program across Sanford Health through partnerships with the enterprise Medication Safety Committee, regional Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees, Regional Medication Safety Committees, the Risk Committee, and the Quality Cabinet. Responsible for the quality and safety of medication administration by all employees at all facilities. Leads in the standardization of the medication safety program and in building a culture of medication safety throughout the enterprise. Preferred onsite location Marshfield, WI but other pharmacy locations may be considered.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
• License must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice
• Must have a thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; knowledge of state and local regulations
• Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid. This is a condition of employment. Employee must immediately notify his/her manager or the Health System’s Compliance Officer if he/she is threatened with exclusion or becomes excluded from any federally funded program.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in related field
• Two years of experience preferred
• Successful completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency is preferred
