Patient Registration Specialist - Center for Health Services
About The Position
The Patient Registration Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for patients, handling pre-registration and arrival procedures for various medical services across ProMedica clinics, labs, inpatient, outpatient, or emergency departments. Key responsibilities include validating insurance, posting payments, securing registration and billing information, and addressing inquiries from patients, visitors, or staff. This role demands strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights. The specialist is expected to be an active team member, effectively prioritizing daily tasks, assisting in the training of new staff, and ensuring all work meets system quality assurance policies.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Experience or basic knowledge of health insurance plans and medical terminology
- Minimum of 1 year experience in medical registration, medical assistant, revenue cycle/billing or other like positions within a medical office setting
