About The Position

Bring your talents to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and help drive the success of our Oncology Service Line. The Patient Navigator functions as the primary care coordinator for patients and collaborates with key clinical staff to ensure comprehensive care and treatment. In this role, you will serve as the Go-To contact for our patients receiving Oncology care, serving as a patient ally throughout the continuum of care. Patient Navigators serve as liaison to physicians and the department, prepping the patient with educational materials, logistics, and expectations. Manage treatment schedules, handle patient inquiries, gather medical records, and set consultations with the medical team. Demonstrate your caring & empathetic patient-first focus via your compassionate listening skills while troubleshooting solutions on behalf of patients. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Diverse and culturally sensitive customer service skills
  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish (writing, speaking, reading)
  • Experience in health care setting working directly with patients
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with Epic
