Role Overview Lead Patient Dining Excellence at a Premier Academic Medical Center Sodexo is seeking a Patient Food Service Manager to join our team at Penn State Health’s flagship 628-bed academic medical center, Penn State Health – Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is central Pennsylvania’s only locally based academic medical center and has been a Magnet-designated hospital since 2007, recognized for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care. It is also the only medical facility in Pennsylvania accredited as a Level 1 trauma center for both children and adults. Position Summary The Patient Food Service Manager will oversee patient dining operations within the Children’s Hospital kitchen, operating under a room service model. This role provides leadership for patient services operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, patient satisfaction, and operational excellence. This position plays a key role in driving innovation and program development, as the Hershey campus serves as the flagship location for Penn State Health, piloting new menu concepts and patient service initiatives. The manager will oversee HealthTouch patient dining systems and Experiencia patient experience initiatives while leading and developing a team of 25+ frontline employees. This role requires flexibility with varied shifts to support a 24/7 healthcare environment. What You'll Do Oversee daily operations of patient dining services within the Children’s Hospital kitchen Lead and develop a team of 25+ frontline staff, ensuring strong engagement, training, and performance management Manage room service-style patient dining operations, ensuring high levels of patient satisfaction Support implementation and management of HealthTouch patient meal ordering platform Drive Experiencia patient experience initiatives to enhance patient-centered care Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards Collaborate with clinical teams, nursing leadership, and hospital stakeholders to enhance patient dining services Participate in menu innovation and pilot programs supporting system-wide patient service improvements Foster a culture of inclusion, teamwork, and strong client partnership What We Offer Compensation is fair and equitable, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience.
