Sodexo is seeking a Patient Dining Manager to support patient meal service operations at Saint Raphael Campu s, a 501-bed acute care hospital and an integral part of the New Haven healthcare community. This is a temporary 6-month opportunity designed to support current operations—with a strong potential to transition into a permanent leadership role at a new on-site location within the hospital . What You'll Do As the Patient Dining Manager , you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient services:

Requirements

  • Experience in healthcare food service, patient dining, or hospitality operations
  • Proven ability to lead, engage, and motivate frontline teams (union experience a plus)
  • Strong customer service and patient-focused mindset
  • Comfort with scheduling, payroll systems, and digital meal service platforms
  • A hands-on, proactive leadership style with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced setting
  • Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including weekends
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily patient meal service operations within a bedside dining program
  • Lead and manage a team of 25–30 frontline (union) employees
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll processing
  • Conduct patient rounding to ensure satisfaction and resolve concerns in real time
  • Serve as an opening or closing manager on a rotating schedule, including some weekends
  • Collaborate with fellow Patient Services Managers to drive service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Support meal service operations utilizing HealthTouch menu software
