About The Position

A Patient Care Technician position is available in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit at Samaritan Hospital. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 7a-3p, with no weekends or holidays. The tech's responsibilities in Ambulatory Surgery include assisting Registered Nurses with patient arrival and emergence from anesthesia, transporting patients to the next phase of care, performing bedside procedures such as ECGs, finger sticks, and patient repositioning, and stocking and organizing patient care areas. The role involves significant amounts of lifting, pushing/pulling, and standing. Responsibilities

  • Assist RN with patient arrival and emergence from anesthesia
  • Transport patients to next phase of care
  • Perform bedside procedures including ECGs, finger sticks, and patient repositioning
  • Stock and organize patient care areas
  • Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Set up Monitor
  • Assist patients with positioning
