Logan Health Radiation Oncology is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Care Scheduler (PRN) to support our Radiation Oncology team. This role plays a vital part in coordinating patient appointments and ensuring timely, compassionate access to care. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, organizational ability, and a commitment to exceptional patient service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in medical scheduling, healthcare registration, or customer service preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in oncology or specialty care scheduling is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments for Radiation Oncology services
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, families, and clinical staff regarding scheduling needs
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral details as needed
  • Communicate appointment details clearly and compassionately to patients
  • Coordinate schedules with providers, clinical staff, and treatment teams
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Assist with coverage during high-volume periods, staff absences, or unexpected needs
  • Adhere to patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality standards at all times
