Logan Health Radiation Oncology is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Care Scheduler (PRN) to support our Radiation Oncology team. This role plays a vital part in coordinating patient appointments and ensuring timely, compassionate access to care. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, organizational ability, and a commitment to exceptional patient service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in medical scheduling, healthcare registration, or customer service preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software
Nice To Haves
- Experience in oncology or specialty care scheduling is a plus
Responsibilities
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments for Radiation Oncology services
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, families, and clinical staff regarding scheduling needs
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral details as needed
- Communicate appointment details clearly and compassionately to patients
- Coordinate schedules with providers, clinical staff, and treatment teams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Assist with coverage during high-volume periods, staff absences, or unexpected needs
- Adhere to patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality standards at all times
