About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) for its Lodi Hospital, a community-based hospital and member of Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Lodi Hospital's East Wing is a med/surg unit handling swing, rehab, observation, and inpatient care, known for its flexible and versatile team. As a PCNA, you will provide or assist with basic patient care under the supervision of an RN, report abnormal findings, and maintain patient room cleanliness. This role offers hands-on experience and contributes to exceptional patient care. The position is for night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., including every other weekend and three holidays per year. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period (nursing students must obtain it before hire)
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
  • Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at minimum junior high level

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
  • Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
