About The Position

Vertex is seeking a Senior Manager of Patient Support & Engagement Analytics to own and deliver analytics initiatives that optimize patient services and programs, primarily supporting therapies for kidney diseases. This role will generate data-driven insights, patient journey analytics, and predictive modeling to enhance patient engagement and improve operational efficiency across Vertex’s patient support ecosystem. The ideal candidate is an individual contributor who can independently own an analytics portfolio end-to-end—from problem framing and measurement strategy through delivery, adoption, and ongoing optimization. They translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, and proactively build strong cross-functional relationships to influence decisions and drive measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Critical thinker with a demonstrated ability to identify key trends, synthesize complex data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced analytical expertise with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI; familiarity with Python and Snowflake is a strong plus.
  • Strong data storytelling ability, transforming analytical insights into compelling narratives that enable informed decision‑making across cross‑functional teams.
  • Proven ability to independently lead endtoend analytics workstreams, from problem definition and measurement design through delivery, enablement, and adoption.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present insights clearly and persuasively to cross-functional teams and senior PSP leadership.
  • Highly flexible, comfortable navigating ambiguity and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Healthcare Analytics, or related field).
  • Typically requires 6+ years of experience in pharma/biotech analytics (or equivalent), with a focus on patient support, commercial analytics, forecasting, and/or commercial operations.
  • Strong experience owning cross‑functional analytics initiatives with measurable business impact.

  • Domain expertise in kidney disease is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define the patient support analytics strategy and quarterly roadmap, aligning priorities to business objectives and establishing clear decision paths.
  • Own the measurement framework (KPIs, dashboards, and reporting standards) to monitor program effectiveness, operational performance, and patient experience.
  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques, machine learning models, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to inform strategic decisions.
  • Partner with Patient Services, Marketing, and Commercial Operations to identify actionable insights that deliver a positive treatment experience.
  • Present insights and recommendations to program and senior PSP leadership; influence data-driven decisions across cross-functional partners.
  • Pilot and scale new analytical methodologies and visualization tools to improve insight quality, speed, and operational impact.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data privacy regulations, and Vertex’s data governance standards.
  • Serve as the analytics partner to Data Engineering to define requirements and optimize data infrastructure (data warehouse, data lake) for scalable analytics solutions.
  • Manage external vendors and oversee data quality assurance for patient support analytics.
