We are looking for a Patient Account Representative to join our team! This position is 64 hours per biweekly pay period, Monday - Friday. Essential Duties: Supports the mission of Astera Health through personal conduct and behaviors that contribute ideas and suggestions, is helpful and friendly, demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality, and adheres to organizational policies and rules. Be a role model of Astera Health culture and core values. Works billing and patient work queues as assigned. Investigates and resolves account overpayments, requests refunds (patient or insurance) and reviews claims for proper reimbursement. Collects previous day's payments, reconciles, and prepares deposit. Runs credit card payments from patients and insurance companies. Handles, sorts, and opens appropriate mail as directed.. Communicate with patients and insurance companies as directed. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations of this job are subject to change as needed. Proficiency with Microsoft office products and ability to effectively operate standard office equipment and software. Physical Requirements: Sedentary Duty : exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body (based on U.S. Department of Labor data). The following physical activities are required to perform this job: Occasionally: (up to 33% of work time): Standing, walking, reaching, lifting. Frequently: (34-66% of work time): Sitting, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, near acuity vision. Required Qualifications: Education: Post-secondary education in a Medical Coding or Medical Administrative program Or combined years of relevant education and experience to perform the essential duties of this position.
