About The Position

The Patient Access Associate is responsible for ensuring that each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record. This includes verifying patient demographics, insurance coverage, and responsible guarantor information, as well as ensuring registration precision. The role requires excellent patient service skills to create a positive first impression for patients, families, and other external parties, whether over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are essential for resolving complex issues that may arise in multi-payer situations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation
Problem solving skills
Conflict management skills
Time management skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months

Nice To Haves

Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers
Knowledge of medical terminology
