Job Summary Responsible for collecting and cleaning glassware and autoclaving solutions/consumables, in addition to miscellaneous duties as needed in the laboratory. Adequate performance in job is essential for research program which depends heavily on clean and sterile conditions.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred or High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting 1-2 years preferred
• Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology.
• Ability to follow established procedures and protocols with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Performs glassware washing and sterilization, sterilizes various solutions and biowaste. (Accounting for 90% of working time).
• Performs miscellaneous tasks for various labs in Pathology Research.
• Maintains established department policies, procedures and objectives, including the areas of quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as directed.
