About The Position

The Hollywood Roosevelt is an iconic, historic hotel located in the heart of Hollywood. Known for our stylish atmosphere and exceptional service, we deliver memorable experiences to every guest. We pride ourselves on excellence in hospitality and creating a welcoming environment for all. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pastry Cook to support our pastry team during evening service. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about pastry production in a fast-paced kitchen environment. In this role, you will prepare and produce a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods for both restaurant and banquet service while following standardized recipes to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency. You will set up and maintain your pastry station according to hotel standards, measure, mix, bake, decorate, and finish pastry items, and operate and monitor ovens, mixers, and other kitchen equipment. Responsibilities also include prepping ingredients such as fruits, fillings, icings, and toppings, properly storing products to maintain freshness and organization, adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and supporting the culinary team with additional tasks as needed. Requirements

  • Strong foundation in professional pastry techniques and baking fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience using kitchen equipment, tools, and proper knife skills
  • Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and correct food handling procedures
  • Able to follow recipes accurately while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Take pride in presentation, consistency, and delivering high-quality products every time
