Your craft in surface prep and coatings will help deliver the best rail vehicles in the world. Meet the team and tour the facility Your impact From raw car shells to gleaming finished vehicles, you’ll turn precision prep into premium finishes: Prepare, prime, and topcoat light rail vehicles. Execute hand, block, and mechanical sanding to ready car shells for coatings. Mask and clean surfaces to ensure adhesion and finish quality. Apply primers and undercoats per work instructions. Keep paint equipment in good working order through routine maintenance. Collaborate and assist fellow painters whenever needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent mix of education and experience with painting/related materials in manufacturing.
  • 1+ year of practical painting experience in a production or similar setting.
  • Basic English proficiency to communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services, and colleagues.
  • Ability to read/write simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and technical documents.
  • Comfort with math across whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; able to compute rate/ratio/percent and interpret bar graphs.
  • Frequent walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Frequent climbing (stairs, steps, ladders).
  • Regular work on elevated platforms and overhead.
  • Lift/move up to 40 lbs.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
