About The Position

Manages parts operations within their location to maximize return on investment through optimizing Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, growing profitable parts sales, exercising disciplined inventory control and expense control, attracting and retaining outstanding talent and effectively engaging department personnel. Responsibilities Works with the Lead Aftermarket Manager to develop and follow an annual parts department budget to provide realistic, attainable and measureable parts sales and profit goals compatible with overall dealership financial and operational objectives Monitors parts sales on a timely basis to ensure achievement of budgeted sales and profit goals Assists with the development and training of parts personnel and may complete performance reviews of parts counter salespeople and parts staff Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures Assists with counter sales to support customer needs May submit warranty claims and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit allowed Make maximum use of all order discount programs Resolve customer complaints relative to parts department with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention. Review all customer complaints above empowerment level with Corporate Parts or General Manager Control and maintain proper paper flow in the Parts Department to reflect all parts activity and necessary to audit the performance of the department and individual employees on a monthly basis Maintain a neat, clean and attractive environment throughout the Parts Department area of responsibility. Provide parts support and pulls parts for service department technicians. Work with Deere Dealer Parts Manager Analyst to maximize inventory metrics. Perform other duties as so directed by management in line with the objectives of the dealership.

Requirements

  • Must be a highly creative, imaginative, motivated merchandising and sales oriented person.
  • Should have a basic understanding of financial management as it relates to the Parts Department
  • Understand the details of inventory control and apply that knowledge to maintain an accurate inventory control system

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years work experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of John Deere parts operating system preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required
