In this role, you will oversee staff management, inventory control, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and customer service to ensure profitable and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an automotive parts department preferred
  • Sales experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions
  • Proficient with computers, including MS Office and inventory systems such as Motility Systems2K
  • Experience managing departmental profitability per company guidelines
  • Strong visual acuity for computer and report tasks
  • Physical ability to bend, sit for extended periods, reach above shoulder height, and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure parts availability for internal repairs and services
  • Prepare and manage the parts department’s annual operating budget
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate parts department staff
  • Schedule and supervise daily activities of the parts team
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll and related records
  • Create and enforce policies that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Address customer complaints promptly following dealership guidelines
  • Set competitive pricing strategies balancing sales volume and customer loyalty
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimize obsolete stock
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to parts sales
  • Adhere to safety standards in this safety-sensitive role
