About The Position

JIM TAYLOR AUTO GROUP is seeking an experienced and motivated Parts Manager to oversee our parts department operations. This role is responsible for managing inventory, supervising the parts team, optimizing profitability, and ensuring excellent customer service for both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive parts management, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient and organized department.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Parts Manager or in a leadership role within an automotive parts department, preferably at a dealership.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, inventory control, and dealership operations.
  • Proficiency in dealership management systems (DMS), such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar software.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with customers, staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of parts, warranty processes, and manufacturer guidel ines is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the parts department, including inventory management, purchasing, and sales.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer and service department needs while minimizing excess stock.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize department profitability.
  • Manage, train, and support parts department employees to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ensure all parts orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and analyze parts sales, costs, and profit margins, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Work closely with the service and sales departments to coordinate parts availability and support dealership operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, manufacturer requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with parts inquiries and purchases.
  • Utilize dealership management software to track inventory, sales, and orders efficiently.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory and address discrepancies as needed.
