Parts Manager Responsibilities: Inventory & Parts Management: Oversee the purchasing, stocking, distribution, and tracking of parts, fluids, filters, and shop supplies. Maintain accurate inventory levels using ERP and inventory management systems (e.g., Tenna, Workday). Manage core returns, warranties, and backorders with vendors. Monitor critical parts usage trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly. Vendor & Cost Control: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and high-quality parts. Solicit quotes, negotiate pricing, and process purchase orders. Approve invoices, verify deliveries, and ensure accurate billing. Team & Shop Support: Supervise parts counter staff and support technicians in identifying correct parts for service and repairs. Coordinate with fleet managers, mechanics, and operations teams to anticipate needs. Ensure organization and cleanliness of parts storage areas. Technology & Reporting: Use software platforms for ordering, inventory tracking, cost analysis, and reporting. Assist with audits, cycle counts, and compliance with safety/environmental standards. Generate and review usage and cost reports regularly. Desired Qualifications: 3–5 years of experience in a parts department or equipment maintenance environment, preferably in construction, transportation, or heavy equipment. Prior experience managing inventory, vendors, and purchasing processes. Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel equipment, vehicles, and related components. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP software (Tenna, Workday, etc.) preferred. High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or college coursework preferred. Requirements
