About The Position

The Parts Counter is responsible for providing prompt, accurate, and professional parts support to dealership service technicians and retail/wholesale customers. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient service operations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and delivering a positive customer experience.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an automotive dealership parts department or related industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, components, and terminology.
  • Ability to use electronic parts catalogs and dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license

Responsibilities

  • Assist service technicians and customers in identifying, selecting, and purchasing automotive parts and accessories
  • Accurately interpret parts diagrams, manuals, and electronic catalogs
  • Process parts orders, returns, and invoices in the dealership management system (DMS)
  • Maintain proper inventory levels through stocking, counting, and replenishment activities
  • Receive, verify, and shelve incoming parts shipments
  • Communicate availability, pricing, and delivery timelines clearly and professionally
  • Keep the parts counter and storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Collaborate with Service Advisors, Technicians, and the Parts Manager to ensure timely job completion
  • Handle warranty parts and core returns in accordance with manufacturer and dealership guidelines
  • Follow all dealership policies, procedures, and customer service standards
