About The Position

Sells automotive parts and equipment to customers, over the counter, through the shop or on the phone by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assists customers in selecting required parts; for walk-in customers suggest companion requirements, offer specials and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Pulls purchased parts from stock.
  • If part is not in stock, determine availability, urgency for the part and submit an order.
  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other related information.
  • Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up.
  • Verifies "will call" and "back-order" files daily and return to vendors, or stock those items not required.
  • Orders parts not in stock if, after discussion with Service Advisor, it is determined what parts are needed
  • Notifies the Service Advisor and the customer that ordered parts have been received.
  • Ensures that before parts can be charged out, the technician presents a duplicate copy of the repair order and a parts requisition.
  • Ensures that all charges are signed by the customer.
  • Presents customer with a copy of the invoice.
  • Provides friendly, professional and efficient service to all customers.
  • Issues credit for returned parts verifying pricing and purchase, any without proper documentation must be approved by the Parts Manager.
  • Takes inventory of stock.
