PARTS ASSOCIATE
About The Position
The Parts Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the parts department by managing inventory, assisting customers, and supporting service and sales teams. This position is responsible for accurately identifying, sourcing, and distributing automotive or equipment parts to meet customer and internal demands. The Parts Associate will maintain organized stock levels, process orders, and provide expert advice on parts compatibility and availability. Success in this role contributes directly to customer satisfaction and the overall profitability of the business. The Parts Associate will work closely with various departments to streamline parts flow and resolve any issues related to parts procurement and delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of automotive or equipment parts and terminology.
- Experience with inventory management or point-of-sale systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and provide excellent customer service.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Parts Associate or in a similar role within the trucking or equipment industry.
- Familiarity with computerized parts catalog systems.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to assist in parts identification.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment safely.
- Additional certifications related to parts management or customer service.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Assist customers and internal teams by identifying and locating the correct parts needed for repairs or sales.
- Process parts orders, returns, and exchanges using inventory management systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with service technicians and sales staff to ensure timely parts availability and resolve any parts-related issues.
