About The Position

The Huffines Parts Assistant Manager supports the Parts Manager in overseeing all day-to-day operations of the parts department. This role plays a key part in ensuring inventory accuracy, timely supply to the service department, and an exceptional experience for retail and wholesale customers. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Requirements

  • Three years experience in an automotive dealership parts department
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a parts department
  • Strong understanding of dealership DMS (CDK, Reynolds, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and lead a team-oriented culture
  • Able to pass pre-employment screenings to include: background check, drug test, and motor vehicle report
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Unrestricted driver license and clean driving record
  • Possesses and practices a servants leadership mindset

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Parts Manager in overseeing daily operations of the parts department
  • Maintain proper inventory levels by monitoring stock, ordering parts, and conducting regular audits
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of parts orders, invoices, and returns
  • Oversee parts receiving, storage, and distribution to maintain efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide excellent customer service to both retail and internal (service/repair) customers
  • Support technicians and service advisors by ensuring prompt availability of required parts
  • Address and resolve customer concerns or discrepancies in a professional manner
  • Help train and mentor parts counter personnel and drivers
  • Promote a positive, teamwork-driven culture consistent with the dealership’s core values
  • Step in for the Parts Manager during absences or peak workload periods
  • Coordinate with vendors and Hyundai Parts Representatives for timely deliveries and promotions
  • Review open orders, backorders, and ensure compliance with Hyundai inventory programs
  • Assist with month-end reporting, reconciliation, and performance analysis
  • Maintain clean and organized parts areas, ensuring compliance with OSHA and dealership safety standards
