About The Position

The Joseph Lee School is a K-8 school within the Boston Public Schools serving almost 600 students, grades K-8. Located in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, JLS serves a diverse set of students with a variety of academic and social needs. The school is seeking a Partnership Coordinator to support the establishment of new partnerships and maintain current partnerships in order to provide our students with an improved educational experience, including but not limited to: after-school academic, art,s and sports programs; community-based

Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a development-related role in an educational environment.
  • Minimum of three years professional experience working with students in an urban setting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Competency in use of google applications including google classroom
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by actively seeking feedback, embracing challenges, and pursuing continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with youth
  • Willing to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to use data management, organizational and technological tools and programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with and motivate a diverse set of stakeholders, including school staff, students, families and community agencies toward a common goal.
  • Willingness to be part of a collaborative environment and work closely with colleagues and parents.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, patience, a positive attitude and a sense of humor
  • Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States by their first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage current external partnerships in collaboration with the school leader.
  • Seek out and establish new community partnerships to improve the student experience.
  • Assess community needs using a variety of data sets to identify gaps in programming.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively
  • Leading student exhibition preparation and presentations
  • Relationship/Partnership building
  • Ability to work with youth within a culturally responsive framework
  • Work with adults as a part of a team
  • Help coordinate field trips, workshops, college visits, guest speakers
  • Event planning skills
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Competency in the use of Google applications, including Google Classroom
