About The Position

The Joseph Lee School is a K-8 school within the Boston Public Schools serving almost 600 students, grades K-8. Located in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, JLS serves a diverse set of students with a variety of academic and social needs. Requirements

Degree: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
At least one year of relevant experience in a development-related role in an educational environment.
Minimum of three years professional experience working with students in an urban setting.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Competency in use of google applications including google classroom
Demonstrate a growth mindset by actively seeking feedback, embracing challenges, and pursuing continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with youth
Willing to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to use data management, organizational and technological tools and programs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with and motivate a diverse set of stakeholders, including school staff, students, families and community agencies toward a common goal.
Willingness to be part of a collaborative environment and work closely with colleagues and parents.
Energy, enthusiasm, patience, a positive attitude and a sense of humor
Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States by their first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Manage current external partnerships in collaboration with the school leader.
Seek out and establish new community partnerships to improve the student experience.
Assess community needs using a variety of data sets to identify gaps in programming.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively
Leading student exhibition preparation and presentations
Relationship/Partnership building
Ability to work with youth within a culturally responsive framework
Work with adults as a part of a team
Help coordinate field trips, workshops, college visits, guest speakers
Event planning skills
Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Competency in the use of Google applications, including Google Classroom
