The Director of Operations is responsible for all matters of school administration that do not directly relate to instruction or student behavior, including the ongoing review and streamlining of systems and operations t o ensure the smooth running of the school. The Director of Operations will work with all aspects of the School, including instructional and support teams (i.e, Principal, Administrative, Students support, Access Attendance, ILT, etc.) The Operations Director works closely with other members of the school team and the BPS Central Office Operations Team (potentially including staff from OHR, Budget, Food Services, Accountability Office, Communications, COO Office, etc.). School Administration and Operations Oversee all non-academic operations of the school to ensure effectiveness and efficiency Provide fiscal oversight at the school by working with the school principal and BPS central finance staff to develop and manage the schools budget Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and submit them to the BPS central finance staff for processing [or manage the school secretary in doing this] Participate in monthly meetings to review/account for budget variances Manage school purchase order process Prepare campus for new school year by doing everything from ordering furniture, equipment, and classroom supplies to ensuring school services (i.e. student food services, student transportation services) are lined up and ready for action Manage the schools supply and asset inventory Oversee the effective implementation of core school operational practices as it relates to student and staff attendance tracking, supply requests and fulfillment, student enrollment/discharges, student meal tracking, student transportation, field trip planning and execution, etc. Develop and oversee all operational procedures and participate in daily duties (i.e.,arrival, lunch, dismissal). Oversee the planning and execution of school special events to provide opportunities to showcase the school. Conduct staff interviews, debriefs and training in support of school instructional coach. Perform other school-based administrative activities and special projects as might be assigned by the principal Management and Leadership Supervise and evaluate the school secretary, lunch monitors, CFC, paraprofessionals and other non-teaching staff as agreed upon; conduct observations and provide real-time feedback for staff. Develop and manage professional development seminars for paraprofessionals with teacher leader and/or instructional coach. Lead the Operations Team (family liaison, ESSER program coordinator, etc). Lead school-wide attendance team meetings. Student Support Facilitate conflict resolution between students, teachers and families. Maintain productive and meaningful relationships with community organizations, city/state agencies, and district partners engaged in the work of supporting students. Maintain a professional awareness of regulations regarding child welfare by having a working knowledge of state law, BPS/MA administrative regulations. Management of implementation and monitoring of a school-wide discipline system including student behavior management systems, classroom management strategies, student discipline report record keeping and case management. Actively participate on our CBHM and/or SST teams to support a multi-tiered, school-wide framework aimed at acknowledging appropriate student behavior. Implement restorative justice practices involving conflict. Serves as a liaison for youth resources (e.g. CHINS, Department of Children and Families, Department of Youth Services, and other external agencies). Oversee bullying investigations including documentation in SIS and support other school administrators in the discipline process once investigations are complete. Provide reports to the Principal and the Office of Equity. Develop and disseminate resources and best practices for students, teachers and families around bullying. Trained in Restorative Justice Tier I, II and III supports. Acts as a thought partner with the Restorative Justice Coordinator regarding our school culture and interactions across staff and students. Information Services Manage deployment and maintenance of technology. Manage all student records. Develop and manage the creation of school schedules through our student information system.
