BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: WFP in Latin America is looking to strengthen, grow and diversify its partnership base, enhancing its relations with funding partners in the humanitarian, development and triple nexus space. The purpose of the assignment is to provide support to the Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean (RBP) in effectively positioning WFP with public and external partners to attract resources, technical assistance, and innovative solutions. The incumbent will assist Senior Management, the RBP Partnerships Unit, and Country Offices by providing donor intelligence, support, and guidance to help consolidate and grow a portfolio of donors for the region.

Requirements

  • First University degree in social sciences, statistics or other relevant field, or additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses
  • Two years or more of relevant progressive work experience in resource mobilization, data analysis and/or related matters.
  • Has experience and/or training in data analysis and/or data science, utilizing these skills to enhance partnership development, resource mobilization, and strategic decision-making
  • Has a basic understanding of government and corporate strategies and priorities, with experience in developing multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Has explored new partnership opportunities, provided inputs into developing solutions with prospective partners, and explored new areas to scale-up existing activities.
  • Has designed and managed resource mobilization processes and resource strategies, negotiated contract terms, and provided resourcing advice to senior leadership.
  • Has gained experience in using technology and digital tools for data collection, analysis, and shared data-based insights to add value to all partnerships.
  • Has supported the creation of external communications and briefing materials.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish language is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the work plan for the partnerships unit to assist WFP in identifying, developing, and strengthening quality partnerships in line with WFP's strategic objectives.
  • Assist in contributing to a partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling, basic data/trends analysis, and outreach activities, with the goal of helping to maximize resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP’s work.
  • Support the use of data and automation tools to inform management for decision making to enhance the impact of WFP’s work and diversify the resource base.
  • Help gather, automate, and share partner intelligence (including forecasting) by using key information systems (e.g., Salesforce, WINGS) to streamline data analysis and support decision-making.
  • Collect inputs from other functional areas, Regional Bureaux (RBx), and Country Offices (COs) on WFP’s programmatic offerings and assist in conducting basic analysis and drafting brief materials in support of outreach opportunities.
  • Provide support to partnerships strategies by contributing to the development of Partnership Action Plans and assist in drafting partner proposals and reports in collaboration with other WFP entities and external stakeholders.

  • Development of tables, graphs, and infographics in suitable formats for reporting and illustration purposes, to enhance donor outreach materials such as updates, external documents, dashboards, and other required documents.
  • Preparation of briefs, reports, and proposals to support Country Offices and Management in maintaining, growing, and diversifying the donor portfolio base.
  • Support for strengthening the capacities of Country Offices in partnership management through the development of high-quality donor materials and analysis tools.
