About The Position

Position Summary: The Youth Partnerships & Engagement Intern supports the Partnership and Engagement team by creating digital materials, virtual experiences, and social media content that drive youth participation and engagement. The intern also supports prospecting efforts to expand partnerships and extend the reach of Unbound’s mission. This role contributes to bridging economic divides and inspiring partners to build relationships of mutual respect and support for marginalized communities around the world. Who We Are Unbound is an international nonprofit based in Kansas City, Kansas, and founded by lay Catholics grounded in the Gospel call to put the needs of the marginalized and vulnerable first.  Our mission is to support families and communities worldwide on their self-directed paths out of poverty. Our vision is to build a world free from poverty where all people have access to resources, community support and the ability to make decisions that improve their lives and uphold human dignity. Unbound offers a practical way for sponsors, donors and volunteers to make a personal and direct impact as partners in our global community.  Through walking with a child and family, youth, elder or community on their path out of poverty, our supporters have an opportunity to expand their worldviews and be part of creative solutions to poverty.

Requirements

  • Undergraduates must be working on a degree in Youth Ministry, Discipleship, Theology, youth development and education or a related field.
  • High school students must demonstrate active involvement in school, community, or faith‑based groups.
  • Basic to moderate computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or relevant software.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and openness to new ideas.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, experience with data organization, CRM databases, or contact management tools is a plus.
  • Values diversity recognizes the dignity of each person, and is committed to Unbound’s core values.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills include the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise messages in a compelling manner to internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with intern mentor(s) and cross-functional partners.
  • Professional appearance and attitude, self-motivated and goal driven.
  • Demonstrates independence, adaptability, and curiosity, showing they can adjust to new situations and have a strong desire to learn and explore new ideas
  • Demonstrates strong involvement in school, community or faith-based groups (e.g., service organizations, athletics, clubs, or youth groups) and the ability to leverage those networks to drive engagement, prospecting, and the creation of materials tailored to that audience.

Nice To Haves

  • Volunteer experience in the non-profit sector, international travel, bilingual in Spanish/English or other relevant languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create Materials and Experiences: Develop comprehensive digital materials and virtual experiences that support program delivery and participation across youth engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and Cultivate New Prospects: Research potential partners, create targeted prospect lists, and support outreach efforts to drive engagement and new partnerships.
  • Develop Promotional and Recognition Assets: Create digital promotional materials, participation calls-to-action, and recognition tools that encourage involvement and acknowledge youth engagement.
