About The Position

Lead the Charge in Powering the Energy Future in Texas Are you a senior leader in electric transmission with strong industry relationships and a track record of shaping major projects? ERM is seeking a Partner to lead and grow our electric transmission advisory business across Texas and the U.S., driving strategy, client impact, and large‑scale infrastructure delivery. This role offers the opportunity to: Influence firm-wide strategy Build and scale a high-performing transmission practice Lead some of the most significant transmission projects in the country Participate in equity ownership within a global consulting firm Why This Role Matters Transmission is now the single biggest bottleneck to the U.S. energy transition. Utilities, developers, and grid operators need trusted advisors who can navigate siting, permitting, regulatory strategy, and stakeholder engagement at scale. What Your Impact Is Lead high-profile electric transmission projects from concept to construction. Shape regulatory strategies and secure critical permits like CPCNs. Build and deepen client relationships that fuel long-term growth. What You’ll Bring Required 15+ years leading environmental permitting, routing/siting, impact assessment, or regulatory strategy for electric transmission projects. Established relationships with utilities, developers, or transmission owners. Experience in the Texas market (ERCOT/PUCT experience strongly preferred). Demonstrated leadership delivering complex capital projects and guiding multidisciplinary teams. Commercial acumen with exposure to business development or account growth. Preferred Direct ERCOT market design experience or PUCT testimony (not required for consideration). Experience shaping transmission strategy, interconnection, or grid modernization initiatives. Key Responsibilities Cultivate and expand a network of energy sector clients aligned with ERM’s growth strategy. Deliver strategic environmental consulting services. Generate multi-million dollar sales from selling services in environmental assessments, routing, permitting, and compliance. Contribute to ERM’s leadership team and help shape firm-wide strategy. Access to a global network of experts and resources to scale your impact. For the Partner, Electric Transmission & Distribution position, the anticipated annual base pay is $175,000 – $220,000 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible). Requirements

  • 15+ years leading environmental permitting, routing/siting, impact assessment, or regulatory strategy for electric transmission projects.
  • Established relationships with utilities, developers, or transmission owners.
  • Experience in the Texas market (ERCOT/PUCT experience strongly preferred).
