Engineer - Electric Distribution

About The Position

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer/new grad eager to gain hands-on project experience, collaborate with industry experts, and grow within a company that prioritizes professional development. You’ll work on meaningful utility projects, develop technical skills, and contribute to designs that support safe, reliable electrical service for residential and commercial customers. What You’ll Do Power BI Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards for the Priority Pole Replacement Program, consolidating data from SAP, GIS, and field reports. Overhead Patrol & Assessment (OPA): Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating OPA inspections, tracking findings, and supporting integration of data into SAP/GIS. Texas Energy Fund Grant Reporting: Help compile OPA‑related documentation, track eligible activities, and support required grant reporting. Capital Additions: Support preparation, tracking, and documentation of capital projects including pole replacements, OPA findings, and system improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 1 or more years of professional engineering experience
  • Client-facing experience and strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with CAD or MicroStation.
  • Background in utility design or distribution engineering.
  • 1–3 years of electric distribution design experience, preferably with a utility or engineering consulting firm.
  • Foundational experience in utility distribution network design, overhead/underground layouts, pole line design, transformer sizing, and service planning.
  • Knowledge of electric distribution design software such as DDS, PoleForeman, and O-Calc.
