About The Position

As a Consulting Partner at TNTP, you will sell and manage a portfolio of client engagements or contracts within our Consulting team and serve as a face of the organization to our district partners and external stakeholders. The Partner will advance innovative and nuanced solutions to TNTP’s clients’ biggest challenges and ensure engagements meet client needs and achieve ambitious goals. Although you’ll manage work across TNTP’s K-12 portfolio, this specific role is designed to support growth of our consulting work in K-12 literacy and requires deep expertise in this literacy continuum.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in K-12 literacy, including deep familiarity with evidence-based literacy instruction and the ability to help systems shift practice at scale.
  • Experience partnering with districts and key stakeholders to design, implement, and sustain high-quality K-12 literacy improvement strategies (e.g., HQIM selection and implementation, professional learning, coaching systems, assessment/ diagnostics and continuous improvement cycles).
  • Senior-level experience working in or with leadership at school districts or CMOs to lead complex. organizational change efforts, including the ability to develop a clear vision and purposeful strategy to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Deep understanding of the education landscape and business development opportunities for supporting students and districts.
  • Excellent project management skills and an ability to work efficiently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Build relationships. You identify, cultivate, and convert opportunities by building strong relationships with district leaders, postsecondary partners, employers, funders, and other stakeholders. You can advance work in K-12 literacy while also positioning and leading engagements across TNTP’s broader portfolio of services. You contribute to proposal development, scope design, pricing, and positioning that lead to sustainable, high‑impact work.
  • Leverage senior leadership experience in K-12 systems and consulting. You bring senior‑level experience leading complex, system‑wide change in school districts or CMOs. You set clear vision and strategy across multiple bodies of work, using your expertise to respond to client needs, deepen partnerships, and advance long‑term impact.
  • Translate strategy into effective partnerships. You lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of client engagements across TNTP’s service lines, including K-12 literacy, through strong planning, execution, monitoring, and course correction to meet contract goals. You provide leadership, strategic direction, decision‑making, and client and team management across a portfolio of external partners, utilizing long‑term planning and quality controls to ensure work is high‑quality, stable, and sustainable.
  • Manage teams and contracts for performance and impact. You hire, develop, and manage high‑performing teams while overseeing budgets, staffing plans, timelines, and deliverables. You ensure work is delivered on time, within scope, and at a level of quality that supports renewal and expansion.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and executive presence. You communicate clearly with clients, partners, and internal leaders, navigate ambiguity, and make decisions that balance client satisfaction, organizational priorities, and financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Driving business development including but not limited to: Building and executing on a state, multi-state, or service-specific strategy aligned to our strategic priorities and demand in the field. Building a strong network of external stakeholders and partnerships to help promote TNTP’s services and brand and to aid in business development. Building an understanding of the services TNTP offers aligned to our strategic plan in order to talk to current and prospective clients and funders about our work. Listening and being responsive to the needs of current and prospective clients and funders in order to design services that best meet the needs of our learners and clients. Motivating and influencing in the sales process aligned to best practices in the field to maximize impact. Designing strong budgets and staffing plans that allow us to deliver upon our work in a way that maximizes impact within the given timeframe and budget constraints.
  • Managing a portfolio of contracts including but not limited to: Setting and executing a vision and strategy for how TNTP will meet and exceed its goals across your portfolio of contracts and big picture across the work of a state or subset of the region. Effectively managing teams and fostering strong team culture through clear expectations, coaching, and accountability to develop talent and achieve ambitious goals. Building and managing high-level client relationships to ensure client investment in our ongoing partnerships—authentically collaborating with a variety of stakeholders. Overseeing finances at the team/project level including establishing the budget, forecasting, monitoring, and revenue management. Monitoring impact with teams through collecting appropriate data, analyzing that data, and reflecting on progress on a regular basis.
  • Providing organizational leadership including but not limited to: Creating the conditions for and modeling innovation, creativity, and experimentation across teams. Providing regular updates to the Managing Partner and/or VP on team/project performance aligned to regional/divisional goals. Collaborating as part of a regional/divisional management team collectively sharing responsibilities for staff experience, achieving goals, and the fiscal health of the region/division. Building investment among teams and people including acting as a key leader in change management efforts internally. Ensuring and modeling compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, organizational policies, and expectations.
