The Role The Fund Strategy Partner plays a central role in fund strategy analysis for our Venture and Growth platforms, partnering closely with fund leadership and the Investment, Investor Relations, Finance, and Tax teams. This role requires the ability to independently identify high-stakes strategic questions, build the analytical frameworks to address them, and deliver clear recommendations to General Partners and fund leadership. In this role, you will use fund and portfolio data to support new fund formation, optimize portfolio construction and reserves, and develop strategies for distributions, recycling, and public holdings management. You will conduct post-deployment analyses to improve deployment, pacing, and reserve decisions. You will deliver executive-ready models and concise written narratives and defend assumptions and recommendations in senior forums. You will also help scale repeatable analytical workflows in partnership with our software and data teams. While highly strategic, this is a hands-on individual contributor role that requires deep engagement with data, financial models, and presentations. This role requires an in-office presence 3 days per week in our Menlo Park and San Francisco offices. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate brings exceptional attention to detail and polished communication and presentation skills. We are seeking someone with a background in data-driven analysis within a financial institution. Investing experience is strongly preferred, with venture capital, private equity, or hedge fund experience especially valued. Investment banking or strategic finance backgrounds are also relevant. This individual is comfortable presenting analyses and strategic recommendations to senior executives and has experience influencing decision-making at the executive level. This individual is intellectually curious, analytically rigorous, and motivated by impact. They enjoy developing original insights, but are equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to build models, interrogate data, and refine assumptions. They combine strategic thinking with executional discipline, and thrive in environments where high-quality analysis directly influences real-world decisions. Fund Strategy Team Focus New Fund Formation Modeling and Strategy – Developing models to forecast fund dynamics, performance, and tradeoffs Fund Management – Managing deployment pacing, portfolio construction, reserve strategy, and life-of-fund responsibilities Capital Management – Optimizing capital allocation, liquidity planning, and financial strategy across funds Cash and Stock Distributions – Designing distribution and recycling strategies to maximize outcomes for funds and LPs
