About The Position

The Senior Research Support Specialist will provide a more broad range of complex laboratory and research related tasks. Working under general supervision in support of a research project or program for Dr.Zhaoqing Cong in the Department of Urology/Cancer Center, incumbent will operate equipment, carry out test procedures as well as collate and interpret data using special methods. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Pharmaceutical Engineering or closely related field.
• Two (2) years of directly related, full time experience in tumor metastasis prevention study with advanced research related/ laboratory activities.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Physiology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments; provide research support by conducting tests using specialized methods for data collection; interpret the collected data.
• Observe, collect and analyze data and write summary reports as necessary.
• Develop, monitor, coordinate and manage activities to maintain effective operation of the program.
• Work collaboratively with other employees, faculty and professionals to advance the goals of the project.
• Prepare reports, drafts and/or manuscripts based on the collected data.
• May develop and maintain databases.
• May coordinate field and laboratory work and/or develop and maintain databases.
• Incumbents may be responsible for orienting/training others to the project/ program and checking work of less experienced employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
