About The Position

The Rovniak Lab at the Penn State College of Medicine within the Department of Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a part-time research assistant for assistance with data cleaning, analyses, and manuscript writing. This position will involve preparing manuscripts using datasets from prior-completed and ongoing studies, including two randomized controlled trials that aimed to increase physical activity among adults with sedentary occupations.

Requirements

• prior experience working on clinical trials or behavioral research studies
• detail-oriented and precise
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• strong organizational skills
• strong writing skills

• Prior research experience with statistical programming
• Prior research experience with literature reviews

Responsibilities

• cleaning, organizing and preparing study datasets for analysis
• conducting literature reviews to support analysis and manuscript preparation
• assisting with statistical analysis and working closely with statisticians to interpret findings
• leading and preparing abstracts and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
• creating tables, figures, and supplemental materials for manuscripts
• attending study team meetings to review data analysis and writing progress
• assisting with other project-related support activities
