The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering (engineering.pitt.edu/bioengineering) invites applications from accomplished individuals with an MD, Ph.D., or equivalent degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or closely related disciplines for a part time, appointment stream Professor faculty position. We wish to recruit an individual with prior experience leading research programs in human aortic biology and biomechanics. The incumbent will direct an NHLBI-funded study on human aortopathy in collaboration with existing Pitt faculty. The incumbent will be expected to contribute to the research, teaching, and service missions of the Swanson School of Engineering, in general, and the Department of Bioengineering, in particular. Teaching responsibility will be primarily through mentorship and/or co-mentorship of post-doctoral fellows, graduate, and undergraduate students.
