PRIMARY PURPOSE: To assist Corrections instructors with students completing Career Readiness and WAGE™ curriculum at Southwest AR Community Corrections.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct small group or individual classroom activities based on pre-developed instructor lessons.
  • Assist with supervision of students in the classroom.
  • Maintain and retain supplies and equipment purchased for use in completing classroom responsibilities.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Provide documentation of professional development records as requested by the director.
  • Foster collegiality & teambuilding among staff; participate actively in the decision-making process.
  • Collaborate with the director/staff to recognize student excellence and achievement.
  • Maintain a classroom environment in which learners actively participate and show respect for one another.
  • Use technology to assist students with classroom assignments.
  • Assist with routine classroom record keeping.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as assigned.
  • Adhere to all volunteer rules and guidelines set forth by the AR Department of Community Corrections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
