About The Position

The Part Time Operating & Facilities Maintenance Technician will play an integral role in the behind the scenes workings of an active LORT regional theater. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this part-time position will assist in the day-to-day facility and maintenance operations of the organization. Milwaukee Rep is the largest performing arts organization in Wisconsin in terms of audiences served and one of the largest professional theaters in the country. Each year we welcome nearly 300,000 people at 700 performances of 12-15 productions across 4 unique stages ranging from Broadway musicals to Shakespeare to American Classics and New Works that are entertaining, inclusive, and impactful. Requirements

  • Have availability to work a schedule during typical work hours, some evenings and/or weekends; Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Basic mechanical and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner and apply newly learned skills quickly
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to the duration of a shift
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds (unassisted) as well as work on ladders
  • Milwaukee Rep has a mandated vaccine policy and requires all employees to submit proof of vaccination (and booster if medically eligible) for COVID-19 OR documentation for a medical or religious exemption before the first day of work
  • Communicate well with a diverse group of colleagues
  • Demonstrate an aptitude and eagerness to learn new skills and processes when necessary
