About The Position

Pittsburgh, PA | Squirrel Hill Short-Term Position Start Date: mid-April for about 5 months Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 12 pm; Guaranteed 20 hours/week Hourly Rate: $27-30 Children: 15-month-old Pets: 1 cat Paid Vacation: One week (20 hours) paid while family is on vacation, one week (20 hours) unpaid while family is on vacation, but the nanny has the option to make up those 20 unpaid hours by providing date nights over the course of employment if preferred. This warm Squirrel Hill family is looking for a nurturing, reliable nanny to spend their mornings with their curious and happy 15-month-old son. This is a sweet spot kind of role — a consistent, predictable morning schedule paired with a relaxed household that values connection, communication, and trust. Your core hours will be 8 am to 12 pm, Monday through Friday, with guaranteed hours each week and a possible option to pick up additional afternoons or occasional weekend time. Dad will be working from home some of the time on a separate floor of the house while you handle the morning shift. He loves being read to, flipping through books, stacking and sorting toys, and staying close by while you go about your day. He’s happiest when engaged, whether that’s singing songs together, learning new words, or heading out for a walk to the playground or library. Your mornings will have a gentle rhythm. While the family appreciates a consistent schedule for naps and transitions, they also take a flexible, intuitive approach to the day— following his cues while keeping things flowing smoothly. You’ll encourage independent play, encourage his eating and drinking skills at mealtimes, guide simple learning moments, and celebrate all the little milestones happening in real time. While he naps or has quiet time, your help keeping things running smoothly will be so appreciated. This includes children’s laundry, occasional parent laundry, light tidying like vacuuming and sweeping, and keeping his spaces organized and ready for the next adventure.
