About The Position

Part time live-out nanny required for an UWS family with 2 children starting ASAP. Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be primarily responsible for all child related duties for their youngest child (son, 7) as well as needed support for his older sister (daughter, 9). The ideal candidate is someone who is patient, independent and experienced with school age, neurodivergent children. The parents are looking for a long term commitment (at least 2 years), an experienced nanny (at least 3 years working in a full time capacity) and someone who enjoys cooking! Vegetarian meal prep and cooking for the kids is required - interest, confidence and passion in the kitchen is an asset to this family! To be successful in this role, you will need to have calm energy and high emotional intelligence - interacting with their bright + engaging son and matching his curiosity and eagerness to learn is key to this role! The candidate must be highly organized, naturally proactive and experienced working in a fast-paced household. You will need to be someone who can show initiative and good instincts with daily tasks including managing schedules, transitions, communications with therapists, and cooking meals. Mom works from home and the family has a therapist and additional support - great communication skills and a true teamplayer mentality is essential for this family. Nannies who think ahead and can take responsibility for the kids schedules, activities and meals will be a great match for this family. Location: UWS, NY Start date: ASAP Days/times: Guaranteed 27 - 30 hrs/week, Monday through Friday, general hours to land between 12.30pm-7pm, one full day a week expected. The family does have some flexibility for start / end times - all interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply! Travel and a few overnights a year are expected. 2-4 weeks the family ideally would flex hours up to 50/hrs a week (vacations, school breaks, etc) with advance notice. Children: Two children - one boy (age 7), one daughter (age 9) Conditions: $30 - $35 per hour plus unlimited metro card, sick/personal days, vacation and public holidays dependent on experience For further consideration, applicants must possess the following: Authorization to work in the US Ability to commit for at least for 2 years with the family 3-8 years work experience as a full time nanny An understanding of managing a household with children A well-suited demeanor for working with school age children Experience supporting neurodivergent children/families Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development Ability to take the lead on coordination of two children's schedules, meals and collaborate with therapists and parents Ability to proactively communicate with parents, receive feedback and grow with the family's needs Ability to complete all child related duties (including, but not limited to: vegetarian meal preparation, cleaning up/tidying/organizing bedroom and play/toy areas, researching and planning playdates and activities, etc) Readiness to help with light housekeeping and house related tasks (family does employ a HK and no child related laundry is required) An open and flexible schedule and ability to travel
