Part-Time Nanny
About The Position
We're currently looking for a Part Time Nanny near East Durango, Colorado (81301) A lovely family near Lemon Reservoir (25 min east of Durango) is seeking a caring, reliable, and engaging part-time nanny to care for their almost 2-year-old daughter. Care is needed Monday through Friday. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays the schedule would be 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Tuesdays and Thursdays are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The ideal candidate would have a genuine interest in childcare, be patient, flexible, and willing to learn. A love for the outdoors and hiking is a plus. They must also be comfortable with the family's friendly but excitable dogs, though no pet care is required. The home sits at 8,600' elevation with direct access to the San Juan National Forest, Weminuche Wilderness Area and Lemon Lake below. Schedule: Monday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Wednesday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Friday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Potential for additional hours dependent on candidate availability Start date: May 4th The family would like offer training sessions before May 4th with their current nanny to ensure a smooth transition, if possible Rate: $21-25 per hour based on experience $100 gas stipend per month for outings
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to provide at least two references: 1 personal, 1 professional
- CPR certified or willing to become certified
- Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of driver’s insurance and a clean driving record
- Must be able to successfully clear a background and social media check
- Must be comfortable with family’s friendly dogs

Responsibilities
- All aspects of care and monitoring for one toddler, including:
- Engaging in developmentally appropriate activities to support milestones
- Light meal prep
- Maintain child's schedules and routines as set by parents
- Communicate effectively with parent regarding child's daily activities, progress, and concerns that may arise
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for the children - help with light housework such as dishes, bottles, laundry, and organizing toys
- Driving to nearby playgrounds, activities, museums
