The Fine Arts Department at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) invites applications for a part-time faculty position in Studio Arts within the undergraduate Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program. This position supports online instruction in Digital Arts, Digital Media Production, Graphic Design, and Digital Photography, delivered in traditional 15-week semesters and/or 8-week Competency-Based Education (CBE) formats. Scheduling is flexible and aligned with course delivery needs. The ideal candidate is an innovative, student-centered educator with strong technical expertise in digital media and design, experience teaching in online or hybrid environments, and a commitment to fostering creative development in a virtual setting. The faculty member reports to the Chair of Arts & Humanities and collaborates with the Fine Arts Program Advisor, contributing to instruction, curriculum development, student success initiatives, and program growth. Courses are fully online and asynchronous, with opportunities for regular interpersonal interaction with students. Compensation is on a per-credit-hour basis, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and aligned with applicable collective bargaining agreements or institutional policies.
