We’re looking for teaching artists to teach Summer Maker Camps at Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center this Summer with our 12-17 year old age group in topics like 3D Printing, Machine Sewing, Laser Cutting and more. Job duties include writing lesson plans and prepping supplies for fun and engaging art activities for campers, managing the art classroom’s supplies and cleaning, communicating with parents and building staff, working with a Program Assistant to care for campers and help them have a great art camp experience.

Requirements

  • Experience as a visual artist/maker with knowledge of 3D printing/Laser cutting/Machine Sewing is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years and older.
  • JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a teaching artist, classroom teacher, paraprofessional, camp instructor or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience working with children in a formal or informal capacity is a plus.
