About The Position

Under general supervision, performs law enforcement work for the Sheriff’s Department. Provides court security; serves a wide range of civil papers/documents including warrants, subpoenas, summons, garnishments, etc.; transports prisoner and mentally disabled patients to and from courts, jails and/or hospitals. Employee must exercise tact, courtesy and firmness in contact with the general public. Employee is subject to the usual hazards of law enforcement work. Performs related work as required. This position requires a D.C.J.S. Law Enforcement Certification.

Requirements

• D.C.J.S. Law Enforcement Certification
• Applicants must be able to pass a written exam, polygraph testing, physical and psychological examination, and physical fitness testing.
• Criminal background check required.
