About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Fractional Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple related entities, including a growing professional services firm and affiliated businesses. This role goes beyond bookkeeping. We are looking for a financial leader who can bring structure, accuracy, insight, and accountability to our financial systems while supporting ownership in strategic decision-making and profitability improvement. The right candidate is analytical, systems-driven, proactive, and comfortable operating in a growth-focused environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years in accounting or financial management
• Prior Controller experience strongly preferred
• Experience overseeing multiple entities
• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (or similar systems)
• Demonstrated experience building financial systems and reporting structures

• Experience in professional services or law firms is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations across multiple entities
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly close
• Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
• Maintain intercompany accounting accuracy
• Develop consolidated financial reporting where appropriate
• Build and manage budgeting and forecasting processes
• Create rolling 12-month cash flow projections
• Identify margin improvement opportunities
• Develop and monitor financial KPIs and dashboards
• Provide variance analysis and actionable insights
• Strengthen internal controls and financial processes
• Oversee the bookkeeping team or outsourced providers
• Ensure GAAP compliance
• Improve documentation and workflow systems
• Support audit and tax preparation in coordination with a CPA
• Partner with ownership on profitability, pricing, and cost management
• Provide financial modeling for growth initiatives
• Assist with banking relationships and capital planning
• Evaluate the financial impact of new ventures or investments
