About The Position

The Communications & Content Specialist supports college-wide communication efforts by creating, editing, and managing high quality content across digital platforms. This role focuses on producing newsletters and email campaigns, ensuring clear, consistent messaging that engages students and internal audiences. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail oriented communicator who enjoys collaborating across departments in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Experience creating digital content, preferably in Mailchimp, Microsoft Newsletter, or similar tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new software tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in writing-related fields, including marketing, communications, journalism or academics.
  • Familiarity with project management systems.
  • Understanding of brand voice, AP style, and content best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Create, write, and edit newsletters using Mailchimp and Microsoft Newsletter, including a weekly e newsletter distributed to students.
  • Develop and manage email campaigns that support college initiatives, events, and priorities.
  • Copy edit and proofread flyers, promotional materials, and internal communication pieces to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Manage and track assigned projects in the college’s project management system, ensuring timely progress and delivery.
  • Collaborate with team members in Marketing & Communications to align messaging and maintain editorial quality across platforms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support communication goals and college priorities.
