The Center for Dirt and Gravel Road Studies (CDGRS) at the Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute is seeking a part-time position to perform training, outreach, and technical assistance to the Commonwealth’s Dirt, Gravel & Low-Volume Roads Program. The position is responsible for assisting with workshops, field demonstrations and helping to teach the Center’s 2-day Environmentally Sensitive Maintenance roads course. In addition, the successful candidate will assist conservation districts and local municipalities with planning and oversight on a wide variety of road projects. The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge of paved or unpaved road construction and project oversight experience. The position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties and may require a significant amount of travel within Pennsylvania, including occasional overnight stays. Compensation is dependent on qualifications. This position may be up to 30 hours per week for short term periods during the summer and is expected to last into the fall.
