About The Position

The Administrative Support, Student Support Services (SSS) is a grant-funded position responsible for providing general office support and assistance for the Student Support Services Office. The position serves as program receptionist, office technology/equipment specialist, and program records manager. Some evening and weekend hours are required for this position as well as occasional travel. The position reports to the Director, Student Support Services and has the following responsibilities: Essential Job Functions: Perform general office duties, including answering phones, greeting visitors, scheduling, preparing materials, maintaining supplies, and handling correspondence. Maintain daily office operations, forms, reports, and documentation. Develop and manage filing systems for program and office records. Create and print program materials; assist with organizing activities, meetings, and workshops. Support the Director in compiling and submitting federal reports and communications. Update and maintain student data using required Department of Education technology systems. Manage data for annual and other program reports. Use office technology and software to input, modify, and manage data efficiently. Maintain and reconcile financial records; track program expenditures. Assist with scheduling and contacting students for events, activities, and conferences. Provide professional, courteous customer service to students and the campus community. Share policy and procedural information with program participants. Participate in TRIO events and conferences; stay current on program updates and best practices. Contribute as a collaborative member of the Student Support Services team. Coordinate travel and purchase order requests for program staff. Demonstrate respect and sensitivity toward diverse populations of students, faculty, and staff. Support the mission, vision, and values of Davidson-Davie Community College. Perform other duties as assigned to advance program and college initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree, from an accredited institution,
  • Two years of clerical experience or equivalent training

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, in office systems technology, business information systems, communications or related field
  • Experience working in a college setting
  • Experience working with federal grant programs
  • Experience working with individuals who are low-income and/or first-generation.
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience with Blumen database
