About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Transportation Manager will perform specialized clerical duties that support the Transportation Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Class B CDL w/ school bus and passenger endorsements or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to operate standard office machines and be computer literate.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google sheets and documents.
  • Ability to demonstrate high proficiency in duties; working through to completion with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with District Personnel and the public.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performing duties.
  • Knows the importance of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for vehicle maintenance schedules, repair orders and work orders.
  • Assists the Lead Mechanic with acquiring quotes and purchasing.
  • Assists Bookkeeper as needed.
  • Assists Disciplinarian as needed.
  • Responsible for fleet maintenance database.
  • Responsible for maintaining the fuel system database and monthly invoicing.
  • Monitors the scheduling of vehicles for regular maintenance.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and maintain good public relations.
  • Day to day office activities, record keeping of inventories, invoicing and purchasing, filing.
  • Prepare, type, and distribute memos and letters as needed.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local statutes and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by Transportation Manager.
