About The Position

The Paratransit Reservationist is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and effective customer service. Key duties include answering telephone calls within a specified timeframe, accurately inputting customer trip booking information into a computer scheduling system, negotiating trip times with customers, and managing denied or advance canceled trips. The role also involves scheduling trips to runs as appropriate. This position requires strong communication skills, error-free data entry, geographic knowledge of Oahu, and the ability to work under time constraints while maintaining emotional composure and a positive attitude towards disability issues.

Requirements

  • Must possess a good knowledge of the English grammar
  • Must communicate well orally or in a written format
  • Must have or be able to utilize telephone ACD system and queue system without error
  • Must have strong error‑free data entry skills
  • Must have knowledge of computer applications
  • Must have geographic knowledge of Oahu
  • Must have good map reading skills
  • Must be able to complete repetitive tasks under time constraints
  • Must use good judgment and keep emotional composure
  • Must take direction in a positive manner
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent education
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully
  • Must work harmoniously with all levels of department and Company personnel and the general public
  • Must be able to pass a Company‑sponsored drug test
  • Must have a positive attitude and sensitivity to disability issues
  • Must be willing to work flexible shifts
  • Must be able to sedentary‑exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects while sedentary
  • Walking and standing occasionally

  • Experience with computers and other computer‑related applications desirable
