This position is for a Paramedic in the Emergency Department.

Requirements

• Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Michigan.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS and/or ENPC required 90 days upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Communicates with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
• Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
