About The Position

The Paralegal supports the Legal department in the administration of contracts and risk management matters. This role assists in drafting and reviewing contracts, facilitating their internal review and approval, and serving as the principal liaison between Legal and various business units. The position provides support for attorneys in drafting legal documents and regulatory compliance (FCPA) matters, assists with technical aspects of e-discovery, and offers administrative support for the department in key areas. Additionally, the Paralegal is responsible for obtaining data for insurance policy quotes and renewals, assisting in processing insurance claims, and handling requests from internal clients and third parties regarding the company's insurance program and requirements, including issuing and reviewing Certificates of Insurance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in legal or paralegal studies or equivalent years of related work experience
  • Excellent PC Skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to react to changing situations, and ability to work well with others under stressful situations
  • 2+ years of legal operations, paralegal and / or risk management experience in a consulting or brokerage firm or 2+ years of comparable work experience in a law firm or corporate legal department

Responsibilities

  • Assist with assembly of data for insurance renewals and policy issuance.
  • Coordinate with brokers and carriers to ensure timely renewals.
  • Assist in processing and filing insurance claims.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets; track payments against budgets; process invoices for timely payment.
  • Organize and maintain insurance policy files.
  • Arrange the issuance of Certificates of Insurance.
  • Properly code and process legal invoices for payment.
  • Create and maintain legal fee database.
  • Reconcile and compile financial reports by area of law and business cost centers.
  • Prepare and update quarterly legal report documents and other routine or custom reports for General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel to use in advising Executive Management and Accounting.
  • Provide support for attorneys in drafting and revising legal documents and preparing presentations.
  • Maintain tracking process for Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) certifications.
  • Assist in maintenance of department’s electronic matter management system and internal company webpage.
  • Serve as principal liaison within the company for most contracts.
  • Track and file contracts and legal documents.
  • Review and draft contracts using approved forms.
  • Assist with technical aspects of e-discovery.
