About The Position
Overview: Winthrop School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Special Education Paraeducator to join our dedicated team. This role is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young learners in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting is strongly preferred
- Patience, flexibility, and a team-oriented mindset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions and take initiative
Responsibilities
- Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons and activities
- Provide academic and behavioral support to individual students or small groups
- Assist with classroom management and organization
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as transitions, lunch, and recess
- Help foster a positive, safe, and engaging classroom climate
- Collaborate with staff and families to support student growth
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
